The AlbaChem 1634 Citrus Screen Opener - 15oz Can is a fast-acting press-side screen printing cleaner formulated to quickly open clogged screen mesh without requiring the screen to be removed from the press. Designed to keep production moving, it can be sprayed directly onto clogged areas during printing to dissolve ink buildup and restore proper ink flow through the mesh.
AlbaChem Citrus Screen Opener dissolves most types of screen printing ink, whether fresh or dried, making it especially useful for clearing image areas that begin to clog during longer production runs. Its citrus-based formula provides a pleasant citrus odor while delivering effective cleaning performance for everyday screen printing production.
The formula is designed for use with photographic stencils and water-soluble hand-cut film and leaves no film behind after application. In addition to opening clogged mesh, Citrus Screen Opener is useful for quick spot cleanups and can help remove ink, dirt, and oil from printing press surfaces and components.
For press-side use, AlbaChem recommends spraying the clogged area from approximately 6–10 inches away after a squeegee pass. The screen should reopen after approximately two or three additional squeegee passes, helping minimize production interruptions.

- After a squeegee pass, spray Citrus Screen Opener directly onto the clogged portion of the screen.
- Hold the aerosol can approximately 6–10 inches from the screen during application.
- Continue printing; the clogged area should open after approximately 2–3 squeegee passes.
- Use only with compatible photographic stencils or water-soluble hand-cut film.
- Use for quick spot cleaning when dried or accumulated ink begins restricting ink flow through the mesh.
- Because this is an extremely flammable aerosol, use with appropriate ventilation and keep away from heat, sparks, flames, and other ignition sources.
