Overview
The Acosgraf Tornado Auto Coating Machine is a professional automatic emulsion coating system designed to bring greater consistency, precision, and efficiency to the screen printing prepress department. The Tornado automatically applies emulsion to both sides of a screen in a single operation, eliminating much of the variability associated with manual screen coating while helping production shops achieve repeatable stencil results.
A 7-inch color touchscreen provides straightforward machine control and allows operators to save up to 10 completely customized coating programs. This makes it possible to establish repeatable coating configurations for different screen sizes, mesh counts, emulsions, and production requirements, then quickly recall those settings for future jobs.
Precision is a key advantage of the Tornado. Acosgraf specifies an emulsion coating thickness tolerance of ±1 micron, while aluminum-profile emulsion coaters help provide smooth and controlled application. The printing-side and flood-side coaters feature individual pressure adjustment, allowing the coating process to be configured according to the stencil requirements of the job.
A servo-motor-driven screen size adjustment bar helps automate setup for different frame dimensions. The machine also incorporates a dedicated emulsion loading and coater assembly position designed to improve operator comfort during setup and maintenance.
