Diamond-Kutronic 76" Auto Squeegee Sharpener

The Diamond Kutronic 76" Automatic Squeegee Sharpener is a professional precision sharpening system designed to restore long screen printing squeegee blades to a clean, consistent printing edge. With a maximum sharpening length of 76" (193 cm), the machine is particularly well suited for graphics, industrial, wide-format, and other screen printing applications using long squeegee assemblies.

Unlike conventional belt-sanding methods, the Kutronic uses precision diamond grinding wheels to remove controlled amounts of polyurethane from the printing edge. Diamond-wheel sharpening provides a consistent cutting surface while helping maintain the geometry and straightness of the squeegee blade throughout the sharpening process.

The Kutronic is fully automated, helping eliminate many of the variables associated with manually sharpening long squeegees. Uniform sharpening speed, consistent grinding pressure, and controlled material removal contribute to repeatable results from one blade to the next.

The machine's clamping system is designed to securely hold the squeegee blade parallel to the grinding wheel without unnecessary bending or flexing. This is particularly important when sharpening longer blades, where bowing or distortion can contribute to an inconsistent printing edge.

For additional control over long squeegee assemblies, the Kutronic incorporates adjustable camber capability. Edge straightness can be adjusted from approximately -0.050" to +0.050" camber across the full sharpening length. Kutronic sharpeners are factory set at approximately +0.030" camber for optimum performance, but the setting can be adjusted by the operator when required.

Two straight/square-edge diamond grinding wheels are supplied as standard. The standard wheel selection includes 100-grit and 360-grit diamond wheels, providing options for material removal and finer edge finishing. Optional 60-grit and 600-grit wheels may also be available for specialized sharpening requirements.

Recommended material removal is approximately 0.002" to 0.005" (0.05 to 0.10 mm), depending on the grinding-wheel grit and condition of the squeegee. Removing controlled amounts of material helps restore the printing edge while minimizing unnecessary removal of usable polyurethane.

The Kutronic can sharpen a wide range of squeegee materials, including both single- and multiple-durometer blades. This versatility makes it an excellent maintenance solution for production screen-printing operations processing different squeegee configurations.
